Last Days of the Nazis
It's 1945, and the Allies have rounded up as many Nazis as they can find. They'll interrogate party officials, war criminals, and also minor players just to get to the bottom of how this nation operated. Their subjects include the leading Nazi propagandist and noted anti-Semite, Julius Streicher, a paranoid personality with psychopathic tendencies; the charming and likeable Albert Speer, Hitler's architect and Minister of Armaments; the commandant of Auschwitz, Rudolph Hess; BDM leader Melita Maschmann; and Nazi doctor Karl Gephardt. These five share stories of their earliest encounters with Adolf Hitler, the first violent days of the Nazi party, the bizarre tale of Hitler's Jewish psychic, and of how the Gestapo encouraged regular Germans to inform on each other for the greater good.
11:00AM
Last Days of the Nazis
After World War II ends, every German adult is subject to Allied questioning. Albert Speer, Hitler's architect and Armaments Minister, presents a confounding portrait of an educated, likeable man seduced by his own ambitions. Former BDM leader Melita Maschmann explains how the Nazis cultivated racial hatred among young Germans. Occultist Karl Maria Wiligut explains the Nazi obsession with mysticism and ritual. The Nazis use spectacle and circus to obscure their dark agenda at the 1934 Nuremburg Party Rally and the 1936 Berlin Olympics. And propagandist Julius Streicher repulses his captors and meets a grisly and surprising end.
12:00PM
Last Days of the Nazis
Post-War Germany is a physical and moral ruin, and Allied interrogators must construct a narrative that explains the Third Reich. Julius Streicher, propagandist and notorious anti-Semite, tries to rationalize his role in the Final Solution. Hitler Youth members Melita Mashmann and Armin Lehman recall the Night of Broken Glass. General Johannes Blaskowitz pays the ultimate price for challenging Hitler and Nazi brutality in occupied Poland. And Franz Stangel insists that it was not up to him to question the Nazis' euthanasia program against German citizens. Wilhelm Keitel, Hitler's War General, tries and fails to persuade his interrogators that he was an honorable soldier who objected to the brutal invasions of first Poland and then France and finally the Soviet Union.

Last Days of the Nazis
After the war is over, the Allies are horrified to stumble across evidence of the Nazi's unprecedented crimes against humanity. Now they must question those who took part so they can prevent anything like this from ever happening again. SS Investigator Judge Konrad Morgen describes his visit to Auschwitz to root out corruption among guards there, and how he soon discovers evidence of wrongdoing at the very top. Aushwitz Commandant Rudolf Hoess contends with the stress of expanding the camp's industrialized killing facility by carrying on an illicit affair with a female inmate...until her existence becomes problematic. Bacteriologist Hans Munch finds himself trying to shirk "selection" duty at Auschwitz and at the same time debating the morality of human medical experimentation with Josef Mengele.
3:00PM
Last Days of the Nazis
Allied interrogators in Occupied Germany must question those who participated in the Third Reich to get to the bottom of what happened there. And few witnesses are more helpful than SS General Von Dem Bach-Zelewski, who describes how his men crushed the Warsaw Uprising in the summer of 1944, somehow without incriminating himself. 19 year-old demolition expert Mattias Shenck is a firsthand witness to the atrocities perpetrated against Warsaw's citizens by the notorious Direlwanger brigade. Hitler's War Minister, Albert Speer, claims he turned traitor and plotted the ultimate act of treason in the last days of the war. Former BDM leader Melita Maschmann witnesses the death of her parents in a bombing raid, but even this does not shake her faith in National Socialism.
